Hyde Park

A beautiful park to stroll then take a visit to the War Memorial (free entry). While not a large park a great one to cross through en route to either the Australian Museum or head down to Lady Macquarie's Chair at the Botanical. Lots of city workers break here for lunch.

Sydney Tower

Yes, this is one of the highest point in Sydney where you will have a 360 degrees view. There are several different choices from the Skywalk or the Observation Tower. On offer is a coffee lounge and restaurant. There are some very interesting facts about this Tower, the way it is cleaned, the 1504 fire-isolated stars and the 162,000 litre water tank (the tower’s primary damping system also acts as a stabiliser for the tower). Still an engineering marvel after 30 years.

Adults AUD $25.00 Child (4-15 years) $15.00

Churchill Butcher Shop

You might be thinking why a Butcher would feature on a tourist 'things to see' but this is no ordinary butcher shop. It is situated in the quaint village of Woollahra (stroll from Oxford St Paddington) the village's residential, and the shop, are known for their design and opulence. There are a number of lovely boutiques and other shops in this area and tourists rarely travel down this path but it is recommended if you want to see a local area and enjoy the beauty of this very wealthy Sydney village.

Fort Denison

The only way here is via ferry. You can book via a number of different companies and it is a great way to do some hopping around the harbour. Fort Denison, also known as "Pinchgut", is one of Sydney's historic landmarks, located in the centre of Sydney Harbour. When the First Fleet arrived in 1788, Fort Denison was a steep, rocky island known to the Aboriginal people as Mat-te-wan-ye and was a popular fishing place for local tribes. The name “Pinchgut” arose soon after, as convicts who had committed secondary crimes were charged and confined in leg irons on the island, with rations of bread and water. Today, the Fort still operates as a Harbour Navigation Facility, with automated tide gauge, foghorn, beacon and channel markers and as well as a modern museum and café.
